Ballarat Farmers Market

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the market is SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY.  Please contact stallholders directly for your local produce needs.  You’ll find a list of our great local and regional vendors on the stallholders page.  (Most information below is therefore currently inaccurate, but has been left as a guide to our normal operations)

The Ballarat Farmers Market runs every Second Saturday of the Month at Lake Wendouree, Ballarat.  It used to operate twice a month, but since July 2018, the market is here just ONCE a month.

Thanks for supporting us on the Second Saturday – and please come out to Brown Hill for the market on the Fourth Saturday.  Brown Hill is only a few minutes drive east of the Lake… they’ve taken down the border control posts, you don’t need a visa and people in Brown Hill are very friendly, so PLEASE come join us!  The market at Brown Hill has really ‘found its feet’ and is thriving, taking advantage of that great indoor space in the Hall.  Come check it out! 🙂

Ballarat Farmers Market operates on the foreshore of beautiful Lake Wendouree.  Our location is just opposite the Botanical Gardens.

A market has operated on this site for well over a decade.  From 2014-2018, the market was run by local community group BREAZE, with Steve Burns engaged as the market manager.   In early 2018, the BREAZE Inc. Board decided that operating a market wasn’t part of its core direction and announced it would not seek a renewal of its licence with the City of Ballarat beyond June 30 2018.

From July 2018, Steve took on full management of the market.  At that time, he moved the FOURTH Saturday market moved to Brown Hill Hall, which offers undercover operation for over 20 stalls, on-site toilets and a great supportive local community.

The Second Saturday market continues at Lake Wendouree.

We’re here once a month.  Did we mention that?  Second Saturday of every month…  I think I covered it… fingers crossed.  🙂
