Langdale Orchards is an apple and pear orchard based in Harcourt. They might hold the record for the oldest business operating at either market, having been founded in 1858. It’s always a clue when the road they live in is named after the family! Gavin is the 6th generation to be running the orchard.
They usually attend the Brown Hill Market and are still operating during the Covid 19 lockdown. On Saturday April 2nd, they came over to the Spring Creek Organics and will be doing this on the FIRST and THIRD Saturdays during lockdown. Go to Spring Creek Organics, 27 Kielys Rd, Navigators VIC 3352 between 9 am and 1.30 pm
Opening hours Tuesdays and Fridays 8.00am- 3.00pm (for customers near Harcourt) They are also doing 3 Melbourne markets, and Castlemaine monthly and weekly. Contact Gavin or Carol for details if these might be relevant.
Products – Apples and Pears, preserves, jams
Family Business been in the same family for over 150 years, Gavin is 6 generation to be running the orchard. Carol, who usually comes to Brown Hill married into the family and she and Gavin are are proud of the fact that the orchard has been growing fruit for 150 years and is still in the same family. We like the lifestyle and educating customers about our fruit.
Our product is fresh, grown for taste ( not colour), no wax and no middle man dealing direct with the grower ( not like supermarkets )
Tips: If kept in the fridge apples will keep a month, pears too if you don’t want them to ripen all at once
Favourite moments : a customer saying “Your fruit is tastes great and my kids won’t eat supermarket apples anymore!”
We are offering a pre paid. Contactless pick up from orchard on Tuesdays and Fridays, or pick up from any of our markets we attend
